Her Spiritual Life
Her spiritual life was of deep faith. Through the immense suffering and pain, I have never seen her in the 25 years of her ailment ever blaming God. Her favourite verse, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). She never withheld from testifying to the glory of God and strongly believed in Jesus being the greatest healer. Being in the hospital, she stood as a strong witness, where every nurse, attendant and even the cleaning staff always appreciated her calmness and individual attention she gave them, respecting them with dignity. After her last testimony, the pastor said, “I never knew that a person’s sickness and pain could be such a strong ministry for people to grow in faith.” Two days before her passing away, we saw the divine intervention of the Lord in every moment to the final rest.
The divine presence is yet felt strongly with each one of us, something very extraordinary to experience. That is what we believe in – resting in the Lord. A hope, a surety which only the one very close to the Almighty can experience. Smiling in the pain, serving even when you lack strength, giving concern to others’ problems when you are facing much more, can only come from being held by the spirit of the living God. Every time we gave a testimony, the congregation used to be so astonished and tell us that they were reminded of the book of ‘Job’ while listening. A loss is a loss, but the Bible says that one has to aim for your soul to be saved.
